(381674924)

14-07-2012 12.00
It had rained all day, but 33730 hardy fans still made it out to
The Chronicles Stadium.
Bo Akselsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Yahya Rutu and
Rubén Rosselló.
Atletico decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Fiorenza - Jünemann, Kavak, Marud - Franzoni, Lövfeldt, Lausberg, Šrubař, Naze - Laurent, Bohblom.
Boccaccio had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Pietragalla - Virdis, Torru, De Marco, Colella - Stenstrup, Taniel, Barbetta, Vairinho - Celeste, Tossani.
After a fine move down the middle
C. Laurent nearly gave the home side a goal after 14 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
S. Celeste was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on!
After 36 minutes,
A. Bohblom sent the corner kick right to
L. Franzoni who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0!
With 38 minutes played, Atletico's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
O. Šrubař he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 0.
Atletico's
A. Lausberg got himself booked for a foul.
The player down was
V. Virdis. The Boccaccio bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Atletico enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.
With 46 minutes played, the Boccaccio coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
H. Raassina came on,
S. Celeste had to leave the fray.
B. Stenstrup was handed the Boccaccio captain's armband.
A. Lausberg left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 64 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
A. Mejías Ruiz was the replacement.
It might be a while before the fans see Boccaccio's
C. Pietragalla again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 74 minute mark. He was replaced by
G. Stevoli.
After 82 minutes,
A. Bohblom put Atletico ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
The players of Atletico now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Atletico's
A. Mejías Ruiz was shown a yellow card after 84 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
After 85 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
L. Franzoni might have resulted in another goal for Atletico. However,
G. Stevoli made a spectacular save.
Atletico's
A. Bohblom struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 4 - 0 after 87 minutes.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Atletico, with 66 percent of the ball.
Most important Atletico player was
C. Laurent.
L. Franzoni turned in a dismal performance, however.
Boccaccio's top performer was clearly
M. Barbetta.
However,
G. Stevoli made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 0.
