previous 5/10 next 7/10  Lokomotiv 2 - 2 Hironica (381679305)

A scorching day at Costantino Rozzi, where 39233 spectators were in place for today's match. Walter Oberluggauer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mauro Torres and Daniele Mantenuto. Lokomotiv had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Villarà - Rincon Ramos, Laurora, Quebra-coco - Freksen, Ianculescu, Van Sant, Nonbo, Lo Bianco - Paleček, Donnarumma.

Hironica tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. They fielded: Vergnasco - Araújo, Crowell, Gomucio, Romani - Schiti, Mühlenbrücke, Ungureanu, Spinelli, Envangelista - Cronskog.

Hironica were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Lokomotiv took the lead 4 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as J. Donnarumma elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile D. Paleček. The referee showed Hironica's A. Schiti the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lokomotiv, with 60 percent of the ball.

The sunny day didn't make things easy for A. Romani who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. A. Schiti tied the game at 1 - 1 after 67 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. Some great play up the middle by Lokomotiv led to a chance for L. Nonbo to score after 84 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. After 89 minutes, H. Freksen sent the corner kick right to L. Nonbo who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 1! After 89 minutes, Hironica sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached L. Spinelli, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 2. Lokomotiv enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

The most dominating Lokomotiv player was without a doubt D. Paleček. G. Laurora was a disappointment, however. Most important Hironica player was A. Schiti. On the other hand, M. Crowell's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 2.
