Campara came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Matematici the lead. Matematici's M. The referee showed Matematici's B. Borromeo the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Unfortunately for wado-kumi, M. Szűcs was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. J. Palokangas replaced him. Thighs bulging, K. Wildenbeest charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. Matematici managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when P. Campara cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Matematici, with 58 percent of the ball.
