The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 32816 had shown up at El Mahico for the match. Kaspar Schaffhauser was the appointed referee. Bortol started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Starters: Merino - Tábořík, Radkiewicz - Hallot, Tardini, Narváez, D'Anversa, Chaparro - Mantegazza, Penzo, Lapierre.

SAMBALEX saw most attack opportunities on the wings. P. Robmann's fine footwork caused nothing but headaches for T. Tábořík. The keeper wasn't fooled however, and confidently scooped up the ball. With 29 minutes played D. Radkiewicz almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' T. Galache was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. J. Hallot of Bortol received a yellow card after 32 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. SAMBALEX had to make a substitution after 33 minutes. T. Braunsdorf limped off the field and was replaced by A. Pezzoli. After 36 minutes of play, C. Mantegazza gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. After 39 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and D. Radkiewicz gave the Bortol supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. A. Penzo increased the lead for Bortol to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! At this point, it was obvious that the players of Bortol lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bortol, with 55 percent of the ball.

After 66 minutes A. Lapierre made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to C. Mantegazza who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 4 - 0. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Penzo broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to Bortol. SAMBALEX reduced the lead after 75 minutes to 5 - 1 as P. Robmann easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. Bortol solidified their lead at the 77 minute mark, as A. Lapierre dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 1. The home side's D. Radkiewicz came close to extending the lead 78 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but T. Galache managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. SAMBALEX's T. Galache left the field after 79 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was A. Noguerol. T. Tábořík of Bortol seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 7 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by D. Radkiewicz. The referee showed SAMBALEX's A. Tabolevičius the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 85 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Penzo broke through, making the score 8 - 1 for Bortol. By then A. Penzo had scored three goals - a hat trick! Bortol claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Bortol's top performer was clearly A. Penzo. J. Hallot on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating SAMBALEX player was without a doubt V. Falero. A. Noguerol was a disappointment, however. The match ends 8 - 1.
