30-06-2012 12.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 48229 at
Spix Arena today.
Marc-Oliver Wesnitzer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sergey Ivshukov and
Stanimir Stanchev.
Spixbulls started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Franssens - Janus, Helmsley - Pfrang, Oberman, Previzi, Ida, Ots - Marino, Madsen, Rivelloni.
Caesars tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Terrab - Tornander, Pupolin, Raposo - Huguet, Salerno, Tamilia, Veronesi, Siedewurt - Zeimet, Zimnicki.
1 minutes into the game, Spixbulls wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
D. Janus gave
O. van der Vegt a quick hug as he left the field.
As the 10 minute mark approached, the Spixbulls coach decided it was time for a substitution.
M. Franssens reluctantly made way for
E. Cangemi on the pitch.
After a fine move down the middle
F. Rivelloni nearly gave the home side a goal after 28 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
After 32 minutes,
F. Marino came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Spixbulls the lead.
35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
P. Ida broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Spixbulls.
With 38 minutes played, Spixbulls put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
O. van der Vegt, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Spixbulls managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when
T. Pfrang cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
After this, you could see that the players of Spixbulls were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Halftime score was 4 - 0.
Spixbulls had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
Cheers filled the stadium as
J. Oberman broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to Spixbulls.
The Spixbulls players could smell victory in the air.
E. Cangemi wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
P. Bordicchia after 60 minutes.
Always quick and a menace to his opponents,
T. Pfrang was very close to getting through after 65 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms.
Spixbulls put in a good effort on the right, but
F. Rivelloni saw his volley fly wide of the mark 66 minutes into the game.
P. Bordicchia made a brilliant save 68 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from
D. Tamilia on the right hand side.
Spixbulls claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.
Most important Spixbulls player was
F. Rivelloni.
However,
P. Bordicchia made a disastrous appearance.
Caesars's best player was
D. Pupolin.
On the other hand,
R. Terrab's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 0.
