21-07-2012 12.00
Clear skies welcomed the 18249 spectators who had made their way to
Santiago Marameo.
Jesper Bøgebjerg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Oliver Krause and
Jorma Hammarquist.
J.J. started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Osorio - Girard, Ovando Ferrer, Nunes - Birkendahl, Cnudde, Sørensen, Tollenaere, Brillante - Felício, Maruzi.
Corellia decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Nipoti - Kalogeratos, Radmilović - Avidano, Tama, Alfarano, Forchir, Consol - Koukoulopoulos, Steger, Velino.
11 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for J.J. was
H. Maruzi.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
P. Kalogeratos should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting J.J. a goal with 13 minutes of the match played.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
I. Sørensen squirmed through their central defence after 24 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
J.J. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
J.J. solidified their lead at the 47 minute mark, as
C. Felício dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
C. Nunes should probably have put his team up another goal after 48 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
F. Nipoti kept the visitors in the game.
C. Nunes's curling free kick almost found the goal for J.J., but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it.
64 minutes in, Corellia's
P. Steger received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
The corner kick from
G. Koukoulopoulos was powerfully met by the head of
P. Steger to make the score 3 - 1.
The J.J. players could smell victory in the air.
I. Sørensen wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
S. Bittel after 80 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to J.J., who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
J.J.'s top performer was clearly
C. Felício.
D. Osorio on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Corellia player was without a doubt
M. Velino.
On the other hand,
P. Kalogeratos's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 1.
