previous 9/10 next 1/10  Pezziteam 3 - 0 Gadaga (381688257)

33901 spectators arrived at Pezzi Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Bill Ingerslev was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sven Bütow and Acoatl Escalante. Pezziteam started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Túri - Perrin, Basciutto, Verschaeren - Čilaš, Yánez, Ringbom, Giannerini, Navršnik - Izmailov, Cortellini.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Gadaga. They fielded: Fiori - De Francesco, Tribius, D'Attoma, Brugnera, Bubbi - Maddii, Franchi, Mennichelli, Villa - Senes.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Gadaga. The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing - P. Izmailov's free kick had found the back of the net and put Pezziteam ahead 1 - 0! Gadaga were close to putting the equaliser away after 26 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to A. Mennichelli in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. Gadaga mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 35 minutes, but E. Maddii was unable to convert from short range. 36 minutes into the match P. Izmailov put Pezziteam ahead 2 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Pezziteam claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

The Gadaga coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. As the game started to slip away for Gadaga, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. Gadaga's G. Villa tried his best to narrow the score with a well placed free kick, but it wasn't quite good enough and P. Túri managed to block the shot. A. Senes of Gadaga was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. L. Ringbom squirmed through their central defence after 77 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Pezziteam enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.

Pezziteam's best player was L. Ringbom. F. Navršnik on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Gadaga player was G. Villa. G. Fiori turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
