Clear skies welcomed the 32217 spectators who had made their way to Comano Arena. Giuseppe Faraglia was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tarcisio Argazzù and Celestino Prado. LkC decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. Starters: Duran - Junuzovic, Delucce, Siintola, Kadem, Pander - Kokarev, Ferreyros, Bryld, Mehnert - Anselmi.

Helios had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Stenger - Anyszewski, Gunale, Szegfü - Dimitrov, Leadbetter, Paoli, Cambareri, Carminati - Eliasen, Mongelli.

LkC clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Helios tried to focus their attacks down the middle. M. Kadem behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 17 minutes as he gave the ball away to O. Eliasen. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Helios were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. LkC caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 26 minutes into the match. M. Kadem was able to finish off the move - 1 - 0. LkC's R. Kokarev saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 28 minutes. Undaunted, Helios managed to tie it all up after 30 minutes, with O. Eliasen's lucky free kick. The score was 1 - 1. Helios players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Helios, with 56 percent of the ball.

The guests almost went up by a goal after 49 minutes when I. Dimitrov came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. With 59 minutes played, M. Cambareri of Helios fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 78 minutes LkC tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, B. Bryld's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. Possession in this half belonged to Helios, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

LkC's best player was P. Anselmi. G. Junuzovic turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Helios player was S. Leadbetter. However, J. Stenger made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
