Clear skies welcomed the 18387 spectators who had made their way to
Zamor Arena.
Sandro Ulmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tor Davidsen and
Piotr Kisieliński.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Zamor.
Starters: Varas - Viotti, Duré - Mazepa, Züttel, Bruno, Majuri, Langstone - Maestre, Gülce, Centonchio.
flachigol decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Fraccaro - Bignon, Le Cann, Grigorov - Ivanič, Van Schowen, Hrňa, Navarro, Zurita - Ziegler, Ljungkvist.
Zamor mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Zamor created a good opportunity to score 2 minutes into the match when
J. Maestre's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
P. Majuri gave Zamor the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Zamor, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
Zamor's
H. Gülce saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 19 minutes.
Cheers filled the stadium as
M. Viotti broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Zamor.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to Zamor, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
The score became 3 - 0 at 58 minutes into the game, when Zamor were given a penalty which
V. Mazepa blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
By now, the players in Zamor felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
After a short break after 63 minutes, Zamor seemed to change their tactical approach a bit.
Zamor solidified their lead at the 66 minute mark, as
H. Gülce dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0.
K. Züttel was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Zamor's
M. Langstone managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 5 - 0
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 79 minutes, Zamor tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
R. Ivanič's tried to storm through the defence after 83 minutes, but
P. Majuri was just too fast to shake off and the rest of the defence got back to cover.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Zamor's
H. Gülce increasing the lead to 6 - 0.
V. Mazepa struck a 30 metre free kick home 86 minutes into the match. 7 - 0 for the home team.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Zamor, with 59 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Zamor player was without a doubt
J. Maestre.
M. Langstone turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important flachigol player was
M. Ljungkvist.
On the other hand,
S. Grigorov's play was disheartening.
