The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 40166 had shown up at
giuliano fiorini for the match.
Philipp Wüllerstorff was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marc Skovgaard and
Mariano Ivan Carnero.
Dinamo started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
They fielded: Fantazzini - De Cristofaro, Koentas, Fett, Engeskaug, Pettograsso - Krijt, Macinkevičius, Santiago, Turkia - Siclari.
Polpette had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Appio - Terragni, Almeida Fernandes, Donini - Matos, Štefan, Servili, Crupi, Pasquini - Pennesi, Cotticelli.
It was an obvious ambition of Dinamo to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Dinamo created a good opportunity to score 2 minutes into the match when
S. Turkia's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
A. Koentas of Dinamo received a yellow card after 20 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
28 minutes into the match, Polpette nearly took the lead, as
D. Cotticelli broke through on the right.
M. Fantazzini made the save, however.
After 29 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Dinamo on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
R. Krijt to make it 1 - 0.
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 37 minutes,
C. Pasquini broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
M. Fantazzini made a great block, though.
Dinamo had to make a substitution after 42 minutes.
A. Koentas limped off the field and was replaced by
N. Sykiäinen.
Dinamo's
S. Siclari increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 43 minutes.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Polpette, with 54 percent of the ball.
A lovely run by Polpette's
Á. Matos left his markers for dead and should have resulted in a goal, but the finish went just wide.
With 48 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Polpette showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 2 - 1 when
P. Donini got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
Dinamo had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
Dinamo increased the lead as
R. Krijt struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Confident in their lead, Dinamo's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
It was obvious that Dinamo had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Polpette claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
Dinamo's top performer was clearly
S. Siclari.
However,
M. Fantazzini made a disastrous appearance.
Polpette's best player was
D. Cotticelli.
C. Pasquini on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 1.
