The 21091 fans in attendance at
Chicken's Arena were roasting in the hot sun.
Sandro Certanini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Grégoire Zinniker and
Jenel Bădărau.
Propollo had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Tumiati - Campana, Gell, Drinevskiy - Wijzenbeek, Giglitto, Zanforlin, Schuh, Stryjak - Zampagna, Damjanovski.
Caraguatatuba started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Einarsson - Čapljić, Varino, Stoychev - Dekelver, Hakim, Fürstberger, Viguie, Makhnov - Schedlerf, Glas.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Propollo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
I. Deveau was called on to replace Caraguatatuba's
J. Varino after 67 minutes following a nasty collision.
Caraguatatuba took the lead 68 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
J. Fürstberger was the scorer.
With 74 minutes played,
J. Giglitto of Propollo fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
B. Damjanovski showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 77 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away.
After 81 minutes, Caraguatatuba's
M. Glas fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
J. Giglitto knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Propollo player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Caraguatatuba, as
I. Deveau left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
I. Radoman took his place on the field.
Making his way up the middle 84 minutes into the match,
G. Wijzenbeek almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
U. Einarsson blocked it to keep the score level.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Caraguatatuba, with 53 percent of the ball.
A. Schuh performed admirably for Propollo.
V. Drinevskiy turned in a dismal performance, however.
Caraguatatuba's top performer was clearly
M. Glas.
I. Radoman was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 1.
