The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Funamboli had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

Funamboli tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. ciauscolo hit back on the counter attack 59 minutes into the game with a free kick. Initially it seemed wasted, hit wide towards the wing. But there was an idea to it - the ball was then crossed towards P. Köck, who was waiting for it in the box. That's 1 - 3! Mantovan was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 67 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With 71 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed S. Margalef of ciauscolo to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 4. By then S. Margalef had scored three goals - a hat trick! At this point, it was obvious that the players of ciauscolo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 76 minutes played, P. Andrisani of Funamboli fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. ciauscolo increased the lead to 1 - 5 as J. Gini scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. Players in ciauscolo heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. J. Gini could have put his team up another goal 83 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Possession in this half belonged to Funamboli, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

Funamboli's best player was M. Treccani. A. Nicolescu turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important ciauscolo player was S. Margalef. T. Vasile on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 5.
