previous 9/10 next 1/10  PitbullFC 4 - 2 Marcos (381747447)

Dark skies made the crowd of 29444 at Campo Banana a little nervous, but the rain held off. Ismael Ramírez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Otto Nowacki and Peter Stridhult. PitbullFC had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Starters: Waldén - Invernizzi, Farnesi, Nugnes, Lock - Asikainen, Gaona, Neculai, Wiesner, van Reijsen - Panis.

Marcos started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Hluchý - Casula, Wolf, Miloshevski - Larsen, Cramer, Rousseau, Chabert, Vestergaard - Ressa, Nallbani.

The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Marcos's R. Casula after 16 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. PitbullFC's L. Wiesner made an attempt at equalising 21 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. PitbullFC tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. 29 minutes in, Marcos's P. Wolf received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Halftime score was 0 - 1. PitbullFC claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

After 46 minutes, PitbullFC switched V. Neculai with F. Steitz, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. D. Miloshevski could have put his team up another goal 57 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. PitbullFC's S. Nugnes put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 64 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. With 71 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. R. Casula put the ball away for 1 - 2. After 73 minutes of play, S. Panis evened things up for PitbullFC with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. With 75 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 3 - 2 lead as L. Wiesner flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. One of many good crosses from E. Asikainen on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by F. Steitz, who scored for PitbullFC. 4 - 2 PitbullFC's D. Gaona saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 82 minutes. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

S. Panis performed admirably for PitbullFC. However, R. Invernizzi made a disastrous appearance. Marcos's best player was L. Ressa. K. Hluchý turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
