Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 25909 to
Cornuto Arena.
Andrea Torresi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alan Redding and
Jakab Minarik.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Traidor.
The following players had been chosen: Milewski - Pasutto, Dalla Valle, Angeli - Mendoza, Tansini, Achterster, Brandt, Chapluk - Ciano, Esinencu.
BandaBassotti had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Augsberger - Serrahima, Ingenito, Poh - Watti, Grishechkin, Niculae, Üzgün, Grande - Schaffhauser, Fischhold.
Some great play up the middle by Traidor led to a chance for
P. Angeli to score after 2 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
G. Ingenito had a good opportunity to give BandaBassotti the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
The referee showed Traidor's
A. Ciano the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
W. Poh of BandaBassotti had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
C. Efsane came in to finish the match.
The terraces were silenced after 30 minutes when BandaBassotti's
R. Watti put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right.
Traidor's
V. Esinencu put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 38 minutes, but the ball went wide.
0 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Traidor enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
A drive down the left side allowed
G. Grande to get in close and score another goal for BandaBassotti after 52 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2.
As the game started to slip away for Traidor, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
With 69 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
G. Grande of BandaBassotti to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
A. Ciano broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 3.
The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
A. Ciano tried lifting the ball over keeper
R. Augsberger. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Traidor manager used a brief break in play after 80 minutes to give the players new directives.
Traidor claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
The most dominating Traidor player was without a doubt
V. Esinencu.
However,
E. Milewski made a disastrous appearance.
E. Üzgün performed admirably for BandaBassotti.
C. Efsane on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 3.
