The crowd of 34611 turning up at
Heretic Team Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Jalmari Taalikka was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Godwin Felden and
Iman Eskandari Nasab.
Heretic decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Poleggi - Pietragalla, Saputo, Durigon - Gnessi, Geiser, Tendi, Leuchi, Debenedetti - Perrella, Bascú.
boys tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Scalone - Gerhardsson, Majer, Gualandi, Righetti - Cobelens, Hammouda, Rococco - Leto, Cangiano, Ghio.
The strategy for boys was to use their ability to press.
boys's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends.
boys's
A. Leto was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 13 minutes.
Heretic broke through on the left 27 minutes into the game, with
G. Leuchi firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Heretic's
N. Geiser increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
U. Majer didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
With 39 minutes played,
G. Leuchi of Heretic fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Heretic's
F. Perrella left the field after 40 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
G. Carra.
The referee showed Heretic's
D. Saputo the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
Heretic enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 74 minutes, Heretic did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
G. Carra was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the boys manager used a brief break in play after 75 minutes to give the players new directives.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
A. Leto.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
C. Gnessi squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0.
The players of Heretic now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The home side's
F. Tendi curled a free kick home after 85 minutes, putting Heretic ahead 5 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Heretic, with 68 percent of the ball.
Heretic's top performer was clearly
I. Bascú.
However,
G. Carra made a disastrous appearance.
T. Ghio performed admirably for boys.
J. Cobelens was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 0.
