Drunks 6 - 1 Sporting (381748763)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Drunken Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 36000. Tony Meade was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per av Lofti and Peter Tomshøj. The derby had been the talk of Lazio all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Drunks decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. They fielded: Vila - Wirkkala, Aavisto, Proot - Braunholtz, Brun, Brentjes, Hical - Rumbaut, Håkansson, Gaspar.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Sporting. The following players had been chosen: Črnila - Vatral, Vandoninck, Geneste - Di Gianpasquale, Cid, Peräkoski, Püntener, Schär - Hansen, Gómez de la Blanca.

After 2 minutes, Sporting put themselves up 0 - 1, as F. Hansen finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. After a scuffle in the guests' penalty area 12 minutes into the game, the home team was awarded a penalty. T. Proot scored to make it 1 - 1. Drunks's T. Proot was shown a yellow card after 36 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 39 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Drunks was A. Rumbaut. 40 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as R. Brentjes broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Drunks. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Drunks, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

Drunks increased the lead as G. Brun struck to make the score 4 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. With 66 minutes played, A. Rumbaut could have brought this one home for Drunks as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The Drunks free kick 67 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of O. Hical, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 5 - 1! At this point, it was obvious that the players of Drunks lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Drunks's L. Vila left the field after 82 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was E. Bichow. M. Vandoninck got left behind when Drunks's E. Gaspar made a sudden run forward after 84 minutes, finishing off with a neat strike. 6 - 1! Drunks claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

The most dominating Drunks player was without a doubt R. Brentjes. E. Bichow on the other hand, had a terrible day. F. Hansen performed admirably for Sporting. E. Schär was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 1.
