It had rained all day, but 20139 hardy fans still made it out to Stadio Beppe Viola. Joel Luinbuhl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tadeu Neiva and Anatole De Graaf. All of Lombardia was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Chaltrons. Mićić burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. The players of Mentecatti now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. L. De Minicis did everything he could to get one back for his Chaltrons, but keeper A. Butunoi denied him with a spectacular block. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Mentecatti had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

Chaltrons's J. Portugal found himself alone on the left side 49 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! A. Linschoten could have put his team up another goal 62 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. After 69 minutes U. Astengo could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. The home crowd cheered when, after 80 minutes, T. Nam An's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The counterattacks of Chaltrons were deadly and 81 minutes into the game, G. Biancolilla received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 2. Chaltrons's U. Astengo got himself booked for a foul. Possession in this half belonged to Mentecatti, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

Chaltrons's top performer was clearly U. Astengo. V. Rotella was a disappointment, however. V. Mićić performed admirably for Mentecatti. A. Penko turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
