Dark skies made the crowd of 39020 at
Rats Dungeon a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Lars Thorstensson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Albert Witthaut and
Mikael Sunesson.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BlackMice.
They fielded: Kofroth - Cantarella, Garnier, Hoff - Gladović, Puls, Anselmi, Chitaia, Duarte - Mitschnacker, Vallearena.
G.Siconolfi decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Gołuński - Roy, Scilimpaglia - Muraglia, Cereseto, Daza, Famiglietti, 英宁 (Yingning) - Solstrand, Vertongen, Giantomasi.
G.Siconolfi immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
J. Vallearena, but the BlackMice player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
D. Vertongen made a run for the goal 30 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end.
After 31 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
J. Vallearena gave the BlackMice supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
A well placed corner kick from
R. Muraglia was followed by
R. Cereseto's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for G.Siconolfi, the score now 2 - 1.
After 36 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
J. Mitschnacker might have resulted in another goal for BlackMice. However,
S. Gołuński made a spectacular save.
An equalising goal seemed certain after 37 minutes when
D. Vertongen attacked down the left wing, but
N. Kofroth just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net.
H. Solstrand of G.Siconolfi was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BlackMice, with 52 percent of the ball.
J. Vallearena's speed was clear to see after 55 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
J. Mitschnacker who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 3 - 1.
The coach of BlackMice was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 59 minutes,
L. Gioi came on for
J. Vallearena.
65 minutes into the game, BlackMice were awarded a penalty that
K. Puls turned into 4 - 1 without a problem.
As the game started to slip away for G.Siconolfi, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
G. Chitaia increased the lead for BlackMice to 5 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
By now, the players in BlackMice felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
With 80 minutes played, BlackMice's
G. Garnier almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
BlackMice enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
BlackMice's best player was
J. Mitschnacker.
However,
N. Kofroth made a disastrous appearance.
Most important G.Siconolfi player was
D. Vertongen.
S. Gołuński was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
