Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of GT2. GT2's M. Kołtuński got himself booked for a foul. After 17 minutes, Pierin's L. Ria made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. 20 minutes into the game, L. Valbert had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came M. Catarci. With 31 minutes played, Pierin put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was M. Catarci. After 34 minutes Pierin's F. Manzo had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. A. Spensieri came in to replace him. The Pierin captaincy was handed to Z. Rudas. With their counter attack move halted 38 minutes into the game, GT2 were left with a free kick. The ball is passed straight through to the other end of the penalty area, with hopes for it to reach M. Rochl. However, he didn't have his wits about him and the ball went out. Pierin's C. Morotti made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 41 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. After 42 minutes, the defensive line of GT2 created a counterattack through the middle that gave A. Mione a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Pierin, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

The bench was restless, and with 50 minutes passed GT2's coach gave F. Picot the opportunity the player had been hoping for. S. Excoffier reluctantly left the field. L. Bongilaj looked like he could fly, as he rose high to head the ball. Unfortunately for Pierin, the ball went just barely wide. With 62 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of GT2 resulted in a counterattack that set A. Mione free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. 64 minutes into the match, C. Morotti came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. A drive down the left side allowed C. Morotti to get in close and score another goal for Pierin after 74 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, W. Schmieder got himself booked. The manager of GT2 was not happy. Pierin had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

GT2's best player was M. Kołtuński. F. Picot was a disappointment, however. Pierin's top performer was clearly O. Johansen. M. Catarci on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.
