previous 7/10 next 9/10  Tipple 2 - 0 Santuzza (381764909)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 17134 that came out to New Tipple Arena. Jean-Rémi Lelandais was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Daniel Davidsson and Henri Hyttinen. Tipple had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Asteriou - Pasquinucci, Kops, Tatti - Nicolajsen, Achilli, Garripoli, Luna, Polledro - Campaniello, Sáenz Soto.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Santuzza. They fielded: Bocioacă - Ciuffa, Rodrigues, Descamps - Gürler, Hinko, Signoriello, Bassett, Bacon - Brito, Ginestra.

Tipple could have put themselves ahead after 9 minutes but C. Polledro missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why J. Bacon found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. A questionable penalty 17 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as G. Nicolajsen knocked the ball home. After 23 minutes Tipple's K. Kops limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Tipple, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs V. Rodrigues found it hard to get back into position. L. Tatti had a fantastic opportunity to put Tipple up another goal 74 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. It wasn't a good day at all for L. Tatti. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day. With 79 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after H. Hinko came through the middle, but his kick went wide. A. Garripoli should probably have put his team up another goal after 80 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by B. Bocioacă kept the visitors in the game. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, P. Ciuffa got himself booked. The manager of Santuzza was not happy. L. Tatti increased the lead for Tipple to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Tipple had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Tipple's top performer was clearly S. Achilli. L. Tatti turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Santuzza player was A. Brito. However, V. Rodrigues made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 0.
