20000 punters turned up at
Barzarena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Silverio Gatti was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alejandro Ortiz el Mozo and
Lucas Cockx.
Barzanore tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Lo Grasso - Icard, van den Heuvel, Rubin - Škofič, Vallet, Steber, Minelli, Dumitrache - Giovannetti, Miroli.
Ber had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Lupea - Chiarito, Schwalm, Schmied - Koszal, Ławnik, Buss, de Hoogh, Hofmann - Brodesser, Sahb.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Barzanore.
14 minutes into the game, Barzanore seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
solid level of organisation.
The Ber free kick 18 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
A. Koszal, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 1!
24 minutes into the game, Barzanore seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
Barzanore's
L. Giovannetti made a successful breakthrough on the left after 36 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Ber claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
The Barzanore players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
Barzanore's
V. Dumitrache lived up to his reputation for finding unexpected ways to get the ball in the net when he sent a nifty little pass over to
M. Škofič who finished for 1 - 1 with 55 minutes of the match played.
After 64 minutes, Ber's
C. Sahb made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2.
The head of
U. Miroli connected with a corner kick after 78 minutes, and the ball ended up with
M. Rubin of Barzanore who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 2 - 2.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 79 minutes, Ber did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
S. Schmied was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 3.
The referee showed Barzanore's
J. van den Heuvel the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Ber were forced into a substitution as
G. Buss couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
I. Waeffler to come in off the bench.
The home crowd was not impressed when
A. Chiarito came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 83 minutes. Ber were now up 2 - 4.
A well placed corner kick from
S. Schwalm was followed by
H. Ławnik's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Ber, the score now 2 - 5.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ber, with 56 percent of the ball.
Most important Barzanore player was
L. Giovannetti.
However,
G. Lo Grasso made a disastrous appearance.
C. Sahb performed admirably for Ber.
S. Schwalm turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 5.
