Vidè put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 38 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. borsalab could have put themselves ahead after 39 minutes but P. Arpentin missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. F. Vidè caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 42 minutes. This gave borsalab the 2 - 1 lead. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to borsalab, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

Given a free kick in a difficult position after 56 minutes, road tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. After 60 minutes, G. Broggi put borsalab ahead 3 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. The heat made it a terrible day for Z. Tylman, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players. P. Arpentin unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The bench was restless, and with 75 minutes passed road's coach gave S. Ashurst the opportunity the player had been hoping for. S. Danciu reluctantly left the field. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, road's J. Jarmer somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for S. Ashurst, who struck for 3 - 2. S. Pavarotti could have increased the lead after 87 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. borsalab claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

borsalab's best player was G. Broggi. On the other hand, G. Degiacomi's play was disheartening. Most important road player was C. Graça. T. Österflod turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
