Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 20421 at
olimpico di selva nera today.
Tomas Allendorf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Johannes Jokinen and
Marnick Vergult.
selva-nera tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Eliese Cuesta - Masoli, Duinslaeger, Åhlner - Boni, Schimpff, Roefs, Castro, Duerr - Marangon, Camisasca.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for ASR.
Lineup: Zavagno - Gutierrez, Cusimano, Sajó - Carraro, Gavardi, Carotti, Baltico - Gotta, Zott, Gâlcă.
It was an obvious ambition of selva-nera to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
After 3 minutes, selva-nera raised their score by one when
A. Duerr's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
D. Camisasca. 1 - 0.
selva-nera had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
M. Boni increased the lead for selva-nera to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
After this, you could see that the players of selva-nera were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
It was obvious that selva-nera had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
After 14 minutes, ASR got a chance to reduce by the way of a penalty, but
R. Sajó embarrased himself by clipping it wide.
ASR breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 27 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0.
ASR enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
The visitors' right side was dangerous today;
N. Zott made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 2 - 1 57 minutes into the match.
ASR were close to putting the equaliser away after 58 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to
E. Baltico in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line.
After 67 minutes, ASR sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
T. Gotta, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 2.
selva-nera took the lead 70 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by
A. Åhlner that made the score 3 - 2.
The visitors didn't give in and, after 71 minutes,
A. Carraro got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 3 - 3.
Possession in this half belonged to ASR, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
The most dominating selva-nera player was without a doubt
F. Marangon.
However,
A. Castro made a disastrous appearance.
ASR's best player was
E. Carotti.
M. Gâlcă turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 3.
