It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 41012 that came out to Stadio do Dagao. Benjamin G. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Monaco. SetteFrusk had a chance to take the lead after J. Varela's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 24 minutes. The referee showed Monaco's T. Faarpyöli the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. SetteFrusk could have put themselves ahead after 33 minutes but J. Zylmans missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. G. D'Andrea's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. It was 0 - 0 at the break. SetteFrusk claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

With 50 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Monaco resulted in a counterattack that set P. Montemurro free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Y. Avramakis of Monaco received a yellow card after 59 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. E. Waalkes would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. J. Nurmela entered the game for SetteFrusk as the match clock showed 65 minutes. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to G. Teixeira, but the SetteFrusk player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Coming from the right, J. Nurmela almost managed to score another goal for SetteFrusk, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. A counterattack by Monaco after 80 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but G. D'Andrea, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. G. Teixeira found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. The visitors refused to give in and, after 83 minutes, M. Elisabeth evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1 Possession in this half belonged to SetteFrusk, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

M. Ikonen performed admirably for SetteFrusk. N. Nybom on the other hand, had a terrible day. Monaco's best player was I. Petta. P. Montemurro was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
