previous 5/10 next 7/10  NapoliTRI 5 - 2 A.C.TORINO (381783555)

It had rained all day, but 18824 hardy fans still made it out to NapoliTRI Arena. Fernando Gerpe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lázár Törőcsik and Vincenzo Sailer. NapoliTRI decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Dell'Asta - Fortino, Train, Speroni, Capaccioni - Gülder, Peri, Roa, Huaranga - Dilschhausen, Chiodarelli.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for A.C.TORINO. The following players had been chosen: Chaparro - Ortanca, Belshaku, Gierwatowski - Struzik, Ruckli, Zawada, Deggendorf, Pastonchi - Ballesteros, Hachmann.

N. Gülder made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 6 minutes into the match. M. Dilschhausen bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for NapoliTRI. 1 - 0. The bench was restless, and with 7 minutes passed A.C.TORINO's coach gave L. Maiocchi the opportunity the player had been hoping for. G. Belshaku reluctantly left the field. 9 minutes in, A.C.TORINO appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. After 12 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and P. Roa gave the NapoliTRI supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. A bit later, A.C.TORINO's X. Hachmann easily reduced the lead to 2 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. X. Hachmann slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. M. Speroni could have increased the lead after 18 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. S. Ballesteros finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 23 minutes into the match. A.C.TORINO's L. Maiocchi left the field after 30 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was N. Volpato. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like E. Fortino. After 35 minutes, E. Fortino came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 3 - 2, giving NapoliTRI the lead. 39 minutes in, A.C.TORINO's A. Struzik received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. It was 3 - 2 at the break. NapoliTRI enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that A.C.TORINO had solid organisation. A.C.TORINO's L. Gierwatowski got himself booked for a foul. After 58 minutes, E. Fortino put NapoliTRI ahead 4 - 2 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. NapoliTRI's M. Speroni increased the lead to 5 - 2, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 63 minutes. After this, you could see that the players of NapoliTRI were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. E. Fortino behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 73 minutes as he gave the ball away to N. Volpato. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. M. Dilschhausen had a fantastic opportunity to put NapoliTRI up another goal 81 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. NapoliTRI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

The most dominating NapoliTRI player was without a doubt F. Peri. On the other hand, E. Fortino's play was disheartening. A.C.TORINO's best player was S. Ballesteros. However, N. Volpato made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 2.
