(381785936)

28-07-2012 12.30
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 34986 at
Lu Iabbu today.
Daniel Dahlblom was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Carl Mårtensson and
Per Bergskär.
salentinoi decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
They fielded: Nešić - Arrobas, Berg, Christinat - Baraldi, Stań, Marelić, Ćosić - Mezheiko, Österreich, Pisarra.
Mastice tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Panepucci - Pettai, Tessier, Del Rosso, Şen - Barbiroli, Lafeuille, Peigne, Małowiecki - Séchet, Rambaldi.
Down the middle came
R. Pettai, making a fantastic play that nearly had Mastice take the lead after 38 minutes, but
L. Nešić preserved the tie.
A. Domingo was called on to replace Mastice's
M. Del Rosso after 40 minutes following a nasty collision.
After 44 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Mastice found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
solid.
D. Tessier was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
A. Domingo, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
44 minutes into the game, Mastice seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
weak level of organisation.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to Mastice, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Mastice was able to get his message across, and raised Mastice's organisation to
passable.
After 60 minutes, the Mastice coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
S. Şen off the field.
F. Sodini took his place.
60 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Mastice substitution.
F. Borsella came on for
R. Małowiecki.
60 minutes into the match, the Mastice manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged.
With 60 minutes played, Mastice's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
R. Pettai he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1.
After 74 minutes, Mastice sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
F. Sodini, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 2.
Confident in their lead, Mastice's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
With 75 minutes played,
I. Mezheiko was very close to reducing the score for salentinoi with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mastice, with 54 percent of the ball.
The most dominating salentinoi player was without a doubt
I. Mezheiko.
On the other hand,
A. Christinat's play was disheartening.
J. Lafeuille performed admirably for Mastice.
However,
A. Domingo made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 2.
