Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 35000 to Delle Montagne. Ed Romero was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Diego Medina Cantalejo and Tom Wedbo. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Broncos. The following players had been chosen: Dujardin - Sampatakis, Eickhof, Schabowicz - Bergenhenegouwen, Terp, Portugal, Fouque, Desquiens - Andersen, Caritat.

Aleteam were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. It was obvious that Broncos were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. They were singing the praises of W. Lauber 10 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Aleteam. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 12 minutes, D. Fouque broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. P. Saban made a great block, though. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 25 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but P. Saban got the best of it, blocking the shot from K. Andersen. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Aleteam, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Aleteam put themselves up 2 - 0 when G. Iodice broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Broncos's K. Andersen got himself booked for a foul. The visiting team's coach wasn't happy with J. Terp after he missed an opportunity to reduce the score from the penalty spot 34 minutes into the match. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Aleteam, with 52 percent of the ball.

It was obvious that Aleteam had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. With 50 minutes played, Aleteam's B. Martinsson almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Broncos reduced the lead after 56 minutes to 2 - 1 as Ó. Portugal easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. Aleteam's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 60 minutes gone, but U. Bisi's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. After 72 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after Y. Sampatakis made it through the middle and struck home to make it 2 - 2. Broncos's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when K. Andersen was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 80 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! Aleteam claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Most important Aleteam player was S. Minerva. P. Saban turned in a dismal performance, however. E. Bergenhenegouwen performed admirably for Broncos. E. Caritat was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
