previous 2/4 next 4/4  Grotta 0 - 1 FERRA (381788238)

Due to an all-day shower, 16262 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Grotta Rossa Arena. Xavier Neff was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mattias Gunnarsson and Ruud Gillebaard. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Grotta. They fielded: Premoli - Hesselbjerg, Marrucci, Kršlović, Adam - Biagioni, Lipiec, Borgianini, Geller, Pugliese - Rabatti.

FERRA decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players had been chosen: Vogel - Alpiger, Castilla, Rossi, Mrázek - Ragona, Fernandes, Strain, Monforte, Promitzer - Vasiliu.

The wings were the focus of most of FERRA's attacks today. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like K. Mrázek. P. Borgianini, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Grotta's J. Marrucci was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 27 minutes. After 30 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Grotta found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to passable. V. Vasiliu sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from F. Castilla after 34 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grotta, with 53 percent of the ball.

During the break, Grotta's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. 67 minutes into the game, Grotta seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grotta's V. Adam was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes. C. Nivellini was given a chance to change things around. M. Kršlović of Grotta received a yellow card after 76 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. P. Geller of Grotta was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. FERRA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

Grotta's best player was R. Rabatti. C. Nivellini turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating FERRA player was without a doubt A. Ragona. However, L. Promitzer made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 1.
