Cepappici 2 - 1 AlmavivA
(381796680)

14-07-2012 12.30
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 17526 that came out to
Garden Park.
Ton Piens was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Heinrich Tesdorff and
Christian Oswald.
Cepappici tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Peköz - Larsen, Scapin, van Wieren - Casciani, Knight, Latrèche, Xerez, Tornaghi - Shaharabani, Mina.
AlmavivA had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Palii - Pescetto, Cordera, Iluz - Puccini, Padula, Valat, Deturres, Defla - Pais, Loistl.
G. Puccini had a good try after 7 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
With 8 minutes gone, Cepappici had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
L. Knight did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Cepappici's
G. Tornaghi somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
E. Shaharabani, who struck for 1 - 0.
With 32 minutes played,
G. Puccini of AlmavivA fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Given a free kick close to the byline, AlmavivA tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
G. Loistl slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 1, 33 minutes into the game.
AlmavivA had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 36 minutes in when
M. Defla came up alone against
D. Peköz who managed a block.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by AlmavivA, with 60 percent of the ball.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
M. van Wieren found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
After 76 minutes,
J. Mina came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving Cepappici the lead.
A cross coming in on the right hand side left
G. Puccini alone in front of the goal after 82 minutes but his shot was woeful.
AlmavivA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
Cepappici's best player was
E. Shaharabani.
On the other hand,
F. Scapin's play was disheartening.
The most dominating AlmavivA player was without a doubt
D. Padula.
However,
M. Pescetto made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 1.
