Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 29600 to
sordatino battle Arena.
Enrico Garlinger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bob Schnell and
Luis Alfredo Dávila.
sordatino decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.

sordatino used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for UJ.
After a fine move down the middle
T. Weitzenborn nearly gave the home side a goal after 16 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
UJ's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 17 minutes gone, but
M. Ivanov's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
It was obvious that team sordatino had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Many thought
F. Ríos ought to have been awarded a penalty 22 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
J. Wastl after a determined run through the middle.
UJ were able to mount several counterattacks, such as the impressive one after 29 minutes, but
V. Zemlyanukhin lofted a free kick over the crossbar.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
sordatino had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.
After 63 minutes, the sordatino coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
M. Gnädig off the field.
V. Weicker took his place.
J. Ulfsson's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert
M. Ivanov was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for UJ. 0 - 1.
A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 70 minutes into the match, and
R. Fantino was able to score, taking the scoreline to 1 - 1.
With the match clock at 78 minutes, sordatino modified their style of play a little bit.

A. Begard tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
UJ had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 82 minutes, but
V. Zemlyanukhin's shot from the left sailed high over the bar.
T. Vidro would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
C. Mendoza entered the game for sordatino as the match clock showed 84 minutes.
R. Ulrych was handed the sordatino captain's armband.
UJ's
T. Rheinheimer was shown a yellow card after 85 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
After 86 minutes,
C. Mendoza came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving sordatino the lead.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Begard from sordatino a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 87 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
UJ were forced into a substitution as
M. Bylburg couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
E. Rusciano to come in off the bench.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by sordatino, with 71 percent of the ball.
R. Fantino performed admirably for sordatino.
On the other hand,
G. Scardigli's play was disheartening.
Most important UJ player was
M. Kastner.
E. Rusciano turned in a dismal performance, however.
