A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 20149 to
stadio Franco Sensi.
Mathieu Lussier was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andreas Neuenkirchen and
Roger Josefsson.
intrepida started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Borraz - Paz, Barboni, Ferencz - Montalvo Galán, Pupi, Schubot, Vermout, Múnzov - Ringgenberg, Koskela.
Cambo had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Toifl - Tschanen, Blatter - Gabbo, Puyol, Kavanagh, Mandal, Fortis - 細谷 (Hosoya), Sil, Kamamoto.
intrepida mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
R. Pupi from intrepida a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 13 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Making his way up the middle 16 minutes into the match,
G. Barboni almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
B. Toifl blocked it to keep the score level.
Cambo's
B. Toifl left the field after 27 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
B. Kibboua.
The visiting
G. Gabbo was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 28 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
With 32 minutes having been played, intrepida scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but
A. Ringgenberg was marked down as the scorer.
Many thought
B. Vermout ought to have been awarded a penalty 39 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
B. Kibboua after a determined run through the middle.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
intrepida had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.
The sun seemed to put
D. Tschanen in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
A. Ringgenberg, but the intrepida player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1!
intrepida managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
A. Ringgenberg cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
That made three goals for
A. Ringgenberg and he was marked down for the hat trick.
Cheers filled the stadium as
A. Ringgenberg broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to intrepida.
intrepida's
J. Koskela increased the lead to 5 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 80 minutes.
The players of intrepida now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Cambo's
伸. 細谷 (Hosoya) had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 83 minutes having been played.
P. Manzati was the replacement.
Possession in this half belonged to intrepida, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.
Most important intrepida player was
B. Vermout.
However,
J. Paz made a disastrous appearance.
S. Kamamoto performed admirably for Cambo.
B. Kibboua on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 1.
