30-06-2012 12.30
Clear skies welcomed the 22479 spectators who had made their way to
ATLETICO SOCMEL Arena.
Zhou Phuong was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ossi Pantzar and
Francisco Peláez.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for ATLETICO.
Starters: Hloušek - Alerić, Plachkov, Iversen, Yanke - Wassink, Rusciano, Velicu, Di Maso - Faitelli, Montenegro.
Hattrickapati decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Lazio - Sánchez Ortega, Embún, Brajović - Bérot, Brodawka, Säflind, Andersson, Abicht - Kroll, Möhköi.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Hattrickapati's
J. Möhköi after 14 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
ATLETICO's
R. Yanke got himself booked for a foul.
ATLETICO's
S. Di Maso put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 20 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock.
ATLETICO broke through on the left 26 minutes into the game, with
R. Yanke firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead.
ATLETICO's
O. Wassink had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 30 minutes having been played.
A. Nuovo was the replacement.
A. Bérot made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner.
32 minutes into the game Hattrickapati's
F. Kroll found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2.
ATLETICO created a good opportunity to score 34 minutes into the match when
M. Velicu's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
It was 2 - 2 at the break.
Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.
Making his way up the middle 54 minutes into the match,
S. Di Maso almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
T. Lazio blocked it to keep the score level.
After 57 minutes, Hattrickapati put themselves up 2 - 3, as
P. Säflind finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
Given a free kick close to the byline, ATLETICO tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
D. Montenegro slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 3, 73 minutes into the game.
After 76 minutes, ATLETICO's
R. Yanke fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
ATLETICO claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
ATLETICO's top performer was clearly
R. Faitelli.
On the other hand,
M. Iversen's play was disheartening.
The most dominating Hattrickapati player was without a doubt
J. Möhköi.
However,
T. Abicht made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 3.
