Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 25500 at Polaris Arena today. Raúl Artaño was the appointed referee with assistance provided by José Luis Félix García and Aristodemo Albano. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Polaris. Bertetto came in from the right with the intention of giving Polaris the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. G. Eckermann came close to putting the visiting team one up 10 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but J. Levi managed to tip the ball to a corner. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by G. Maggipinto after 20 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Eagles. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Polaris had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

J. Lehnherr was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Eagles's defence 48 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Eagles lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Eagles's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 54 minutes gone, but S. Zanfardino's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Polaris didn't give in and with 63 minutes played W. Sow was able to make the score 1 - 2 after an attack on the right. W. Sow charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Polaris, but the shot went well wide of the goal. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Polaris, with 63 percent of the ball.

Polaris's top performer was clearly J. Levi. However, M. Bertetto made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Eagles player was without a doubt G. Maggipinto. K. Mertens turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
