previous 6/10 next 8/10  Pisacan 3 - 1 PP (381807209)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Big Luciano Arena saw a crowd turnout of 17531. Kent Grove was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eric Devillers and Fiorenzo Castaldo. Pisacan started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Ilgazer - Aleksandersen, Morelli, Verze - Steiner, Carlino, Milheiros, Razzini, Cianelli - De Talavera, Stavarache.

PP decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Veratti - Kulterer, Đinh, Comella - Chvojka, Wolkow, Vivero, Morales, Schinabeck - De Fusco, Chabert.

7 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Pisacan was M. Stavarache. Coming from the right, J. Aleksandersen almost managed to score another goal for Pisacan, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. G. Steiner had a fantastic opportunity to put Pisacan up another goal 39 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Pisacan claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Given a free kick close to the byline, Pisacan tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let M. Stavarache slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 0, 63 minutes into the game. Confident in their lead, Pisacan's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, PP's M. Kulterer was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 69 minutes. L. Baciu was given a chance to change things around. After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper, D. De Fusco demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for PP 70 minutes into the match made the score 2 - 1. After 75 minutes, PP switched T. Vivero with P. Carnevali, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. L. Baciu's lack of experience almost gave Pisacan a goal after 78 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. After 88 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and G. Steiner gave the Pisacan supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Pisacan, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

Most important Pisacan player was M. Carlino. On the other hand, S. Cianelli's play was disheartening. PP's best player was N. Wolkow. However, P. Carnevali made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.
