The crowd of 28198 turning up at Arena FALCO today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. David Aillaud was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jean-Luc Agoune and Antonio Županović. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Falco. Lineup: Cserpák - Wessel, Manica, Georgamlis - Brandér, Pokorný, Bergamin, Portocarrero, Banzato - Sørbø, Marchena.

InGeGnErI decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Leijonlund - Guixens, Kúnchev, Ronchetti - Sturink, Dimitriades, Weggen, Ughetto, Somon - Stater, Alksnis.

A badly positioned defensive formation on a free kick after 3 minutes led to InGeGnErI's R. Sturink giving the visitors the lead 0 - 1. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Falco, but I. Portocarrero's shot went over the bar. It was a bad day for the usually speedy S. Ughetto. The mud seemed to slow him down. InGeGnErI increased their lead after 14 minutes when D. Stater broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit T. Sørbø just fine. 27 minutes in, InGeGnErI's E. Alksnis received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 30 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as D. Stater finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. At this point, it was obvious that the players of InGeGnErI lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to InGeGnErI, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

V. Cserpák got a fingertip on D. Stater's shot from the left 77 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave C. Dimitriades from InGeGnErI a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 79 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After a short break after 80 minutes, InGeGnErI seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. The InGeGnErI coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 80 minutes into the game. D. Stater came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over V. Cserpák but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. The visitors' D. Somon took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 85 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for InGeGnErI. The referee showed Falco's G. Brandér the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 87 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed S. Ughetto to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. InGeGnErI enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

The most dominating Falco player was without a doubt T. Sørbø. V. Cserpák turned in a dismal performance, however. InGeGnErI's best player was C. Dimitriades. D. Stater on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 5.
