previous 3/10 next 5/10  Dereks 1 - 3 Snasti (381816676)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 13000 to Derek's Stadium. Szczepan Wałecki was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aaron Still and Dominic Unholz. Dereks had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players took the field: Rantanen - Aleksić, Gatell, Moutwakil, Paakkulainen - Benard, Voychenko, Stepčić, Canti, Feichter - Hüttner.

Snasti started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Perelli - Kammerer, Magermans, Balsamo - Rahmflod, Schink, Marsilio, Casu, Manno - Leão, Warnholz.

The wings were the focus of most of Dereks's attacks today. After 1 minutes, the Dereks coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. With the match clock at 1 minutes, Dereks modified their style of play a little bit. 1 minutes into the match, the Dereks manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. The coach of Dereks wanted to try to change things around after 1 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions. 6 minutes into the game, R. Marsilio was a hair's breadth away from giving Snasti the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by H. Rantanen saved the home team that time. The visiting P. Kammerer was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 20 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. With 23 minutes played, Snasti put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was C. Casu. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Snasti had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

A. Moutwakil of Dereks seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 2 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by C. Hüttner. Given a free kick close to the byline, Snasti tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let D. Manno slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 3, 53 minutes into the game. After this, you could see that the players of Snasti were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The referee showed Snasti's B. Rahmflod the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In a fantastic display of determination, Dereks's D. Aleksić forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. Snasti enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

The most dominating Dereks player was without a doubt C. Hüttner. On the other hand, H. Rantanen's play was disheartening. Snasti's top performer was clearly R. Marsilio. A. Perelli was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
