Dark skies made the crowd of 24550 at BB Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Marek Wasil was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sercan Huri and Nest Berckmans. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BluBoys. They fielded: Strelčiūnas - Trinkler, Braes, Narcy - Poecho, Jonasson, van der Paar, van Olphen, Costa Bento - Cantini, Ruminas.

FCjuventus tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Akçam - Mølbach Olsen, Pires, Inclimona - Lovera, Kaivola, Pileri, Stadler, Roslov - Fazzi, Leite.

B. Fazzi was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, FCjuventus's E. Mølbach Olsen managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 1 The crowd was on its feet 7 minutes into the match, as BluBoys's K. van Olphen found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. Down the middle came D. Pileri, making a fantastic play that nearly had FCjuventus take the lead after 13 minutes, but E. Strelčiūnas preserved the tie. BluBoys took the lead 14 minutes in, as I. Ruminas broke through on the left and put the 2 - 1 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. A cross coming in on the right hand side left V. Roslov alone in front of the goal after 15 minutes but his shot was woeful. It might be a while before the fans see FCjuventus's B. Fazzi again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 32 minute mark. He was replaced by R. Bavastro. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to BluBoys, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

M. Poecho could have increased the lead after 52 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The visiting team's R. Bavastro was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 59 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave K. van Olphen from BluBoys a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 63 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 65 minutes into the match, and R. Bavastro wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 2 - 3 for the visitors. Content with how the game was proceeding, the FCjuventus coach let O. Jánosy replace K. Stadler after 70 minutes. FCjuventus enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

I. Ruminas performed admirably for BluBoys. E. Strelčiūnas was a disappointment, however. FCjuventus's best player was E. Pires. However, R. Bavastro made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 3.
