25-08-2012 12.20
Clouds darkened the skies at
Figino's Arena as 20000 spectators turned up for the match.
Boris Leonov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Guillaume Clery and
Graig Mitchell.
Figino decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
Starters: Panfilov - Girard, Portillo, Garaz, Scarzanella - Bergianti, Fort, Harth, Muzaku, Floeter - Wilmar.
Vittore tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Gruner - Cocoş, Cardinale, Boonekamp - Tułodziecki, Starzyk, Mpakakis, Ziemian, Rosa - Sbârcea, Godarte.
Today, Figino's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Vittore tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
8 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Figino was
S. Bergianti.
With 23 minutes played, Figino put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
S. Harth, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Coming in on the left,
G. Rosa did everything right to get a goal for Vittore after 25 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper.
Figino's
E. Floeter saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 26 minutes.
2 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Figino, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 60 minutes, Vittore did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
S. Ziemian was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 1.
Figino's
M. Portillo was shown a yellow card after 68 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
G. Muzaku could have put Figino up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 75 minutes.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Figino scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
S. Harth after 77 minutes.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Figino to 4 - 1 as
S. Harth finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
S. Harth.
Confident in their lead, Figino's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
The bench was restless, and with 80 minutes passed Vittore's coach gave
E. Mizda the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
S. Godarte reluctantly left the field.
Figino enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Most important Figino player was
E. Floeter.
G. Panfilov turned in a dismal performance, however.
Vittore's top performer was clearly
H. Sbârcea.
However,
S. Gruner made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 1.
