Clear skies welcomed the 16000 spectators who had made their way to
S.abbondio arena.

S.D.M. tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.

atletico had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
They fielded: Paraíso - Hoeder, Coll, Mercadal - Eschacker, Ramos, Gostkowski, Bitter - Granados, Ferrari, Czekaj.

L. Jüttner tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
S.D.M. fans held their breath as
B. Labaume scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of S.D.M. to 2 - 0 as
C. Haasnoot finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
R. Czekaj of atletico seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
E. Gostkowski.
With 40 minutes played,
J. Bitter came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by atletico.
In a rapid move 41 minutes into the match,
L. Jüttner of S.D.M. lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
P. Gesualdi who easily hit it home to make it 3 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
atletico will have to do without
L. Hoeder for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 43 minute mark. He was substituted by
P. Bajkai.
Halftime score was 3 - 1.
S.D.M. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as S.D.M. scored another to make it 4 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Á. da Rocha after 48 minutes.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of S.D.M. lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
S.D.M. solidified their lead at the 62 minute mark, as
P. Gesualdi dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 1.
With 80 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, atletico showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 2 when
Q. Coll got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
F. Ferrari had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper
S. Nuora was simply unbeatable.
S.D.M. claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
Most important S.D.M. player was
P. Gesualdi.
A. Bosse was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating atletico player was without a doubt
R. Czekaj.
However,
Q. Coll made a disastrous appearance.
