28-07-2012 12.20
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
LaTrina Fumante Arena saw a crowd turnout of 15894.
Willy Boveri was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jean-Baptiste Gaignette and
Oscar Matilla.
Zoticoni had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Tröster - Seim, Van Dyck - Abu-Yaseen, Kaltoft, ter Braack, Duranti, Ayza - Liljenland, Costantino, Ragazzi.
Cellini started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Szynol - Bonomo, Formidero, Tamir, Abramski, Manno - da Costa, Majláth, Knipping - Allen-Gao, Avrahami.
Cellini were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
É. da Costa of Cellini was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
A counterattack by Cellini after 13 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
K. Allen-Gao, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
K. ter Braack gave Zoticoni the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 19 minutes, Zoticoni did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
P. Liljenland was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 0.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Zoticoni, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.
K. Kaltoft left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
H. Persson was the replacement.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
Z. Manno got himself booked. The manager of Cellini was not happy.
Zoticoni's
M. Ayza made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 55 minutes into the match.
Zoticoni solidified their lead at the 60 minute mark, as
T. Duranti dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
After 61 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
P. Liljenland might have resulted in another goal for Zoticoni. However,
M. Szynol made a spectacular save.
62 minutes into the game Cellini managed a counterattack, but
K. Majláth took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
Zoticoni's
C. Ragazzi saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 69 minutes.
Zoticoni claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
The most dominating Zoticoni player was without a doubt
P. Liljenland.
On the other hand,
M. Ayza's play was disheartening.
Most important Cellini player was
K. Allen-Gao.
M. Szynol was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
