After 30 minutes FCJACKMANICA's P. Kay limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. G. Camarda squirmed through their central defence after 36 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like P. Pedri. Halftime score was 2 - 0. O.M. claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Things were deteriorating for the away team as O.M. scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for P. Vavassori after 47 minutes. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit P. Hiniesta just fine. Coming from the right, N. Buford had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper G. Tesi was simply unbeatable. O.M. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
