previous 5/10 next 7/10  Ronchi 4 - 1 Fantozzi (381892802)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 24625 had shown up at Delle Piccole Dolomiti "Silvio Schaeren" for the match. Stephan Beerkircher was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Heikki Peuralahti and Harley Mcconnell. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Ronchi. Starters: Falkenman - De Ronzi, Rodis, Rogne - Murina, Paraschiv, Accardi, Baptiste, Spagnolli - Thieblemont, Divo.

Fantozzi had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Egri - Marena, Millau, Scaletti, Vergeli - Sülün, Schalks, Pfeiffer, Vindenes - Navarro, Burg.

For their match strategy, Fantozzi had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Ronchi's J. Divo showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 6 minutes. Unfortunately, M. Murina was startled by the play and wasn't able to control the finish. After 22 minutes of play, J. Divo gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Ronchi scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for S. Baptiste after 26 minutes. Ronchi's R. Rogne increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 27 minutes. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; P. Navarro made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 3 - 1 28 minutes into the match. 3 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Ronchi, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

After 74 minutes, F. Spagnolli put Ronchi ahead 4 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Ronchi's E. Thieblemont had an excellent opportunity after 79 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! Ronchi claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.

Ronchi's best player was D. Accardi. P. Falkenman turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Fantozzi player was without a doubt S. Burg. However, G. Egri made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 1.
