14258 spectators had found their way to G.& G. Stadium, despite the heavy rain. Asgeir Rønning was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hannes Muschwitz and Dion Lerche. The derby had been the talk of Lombardia all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for G.&G. Lineup: Vercampt - Ērms, Tsirikolias, Heck, Debelić - Fassnacht, Bori, Fudayl, Khoury - Cavazzuti, Boschmans.

Foggiano decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Kusé - Sparacino, William, Cruïlles - Cappelli, Pardo, Viola, Isoardi, Gruborovics - Falasconi, Ruzzi.

The wings were the focus of most of G.&G's attacks today. P. Sparacino was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. J. Fassnacht caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 8 minutes. This gave G.&G the 1 - 0 lead. G.&G's J. Heck had an excellent opportunity after 11 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! O. Debelić's lack of experience almost gave Foggiano a goal after 18 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. D. Cavazzuti squirmed through their central defence after 31 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. G.&G's J. Fassnacht was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The crowd roared its approval when A. Vercampt somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Foggiano's L. Ruzzi 38 minutes into the game. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 41 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but A. Kusé got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. Cheers filled the stadium as D. Cavazzuti broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to G.&G. 43 minutes in, G.&G's O. Debelić received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Foggiano had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

G.&G increased the lead as P. Boschmans struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. The away team improved the scoreline to 4 - 1, as M. Pardo struck home, set up well by a play on the left 70 minutes into the match. G.&G had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Coming from the right, O. Debelić almost managed to score another goal for G.&G, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. The visitors replied 75 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 4 - 2, as D. Falasconi dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

B. Fudayl performed admirably for G.&G. O. Debelić was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Foggiano player was without a doubt L. Ruzzi. A. Kusé turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
