A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 18165 to Arena del Colosseo. Gene Mcneill was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Camillo Rosini and Louis Foster. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for DENCLA. Starters: Ferradas - Belgin, Scailquin, De Sossi - Nazimi, Ronovský, Menetti, Roefstra - von Hauff, Archimalo, Valkay.

It was obvious that Red were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Many thought G. Gaias ought to have been awarded a penalty 26 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around O. Ferradas after a determined run through the middle. After 40 minutes Red's G. Dision contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. T. Wilkman caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 41 minutes. This gave Red the 1 - 0 lead. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Red, with 65 percent of the ball.

G. Gaias left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 56 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. J. Metz was the replacement. Red's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Red coach let S. Røed replace L. Gualdi after 61 minutes. The Red players could smell victory in the air. G. Sansoni wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for F. Bizzozero after 69 minutes. The pressing tactics used by Red were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. DENCLA's A. Menetti got himself booked for a foul. Coming from the right, T. Wilkman almost managed to score another goal for Red, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. J. Metz of Red was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs D. Lazzara found it hard to get back into position. D. Castronovo enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. Red's M. Medano saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 88 minutes. DENCLA's O. De Sossi was shown a yellow card after 89 minutes for slicing down an opponent. There was concern in the stands when, at the 89 minute mark, Red's T. Wilkman hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Red claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.

Most important Red player was G. Granata. M. Medano turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating DENCLA player was without a doubt M. Scailquin. However, A. Menetti made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 0.
