04-08-2012 12.25
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Little Port Square saw a crowd turnout of 19449.
Gauke Pieter Weggelaar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Anders Högghult and
August Hacht.
Ogninella decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
They fielded: Léger - Ioan, Boschetti, Todarello, Haudels - D'Errico, Jäykkä, Erica, Wełnic, Ciccillo - Miralles.
Chionners had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Anelli - Zayas, Piberl, Van der Heyden - Tichovský, Vargas, Bernocchi, Galván, Holser - Ziołkowski, Losco.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Ogninella.
15 minutes into the game,
P. Tichovský had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
At 31 minutes played,
A. Ioan came in from the right with the intention of giving Ogninella the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
Chionners's
A. Ziołkowski was shown a yellow card after 32 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Chionners's
S. Holser got himself booked for a foul.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 42 minutes into the match left Chionners's
P. Losco completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Ogninella's
E. Ciccillo somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
F. D'Errico, who struck for 1 - 1.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ogninella, with 52 percent of the ball.
The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 61 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
D. Boschetti, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
The visitors'
P. Bernocchi was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 2 - 2 after 66 minutes.
Making his way up the middle 81 minutes into the match,
P. Miralles almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
P. Anelli blocked it to keep the score level.
Chionners's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 82 minutes gone, but
N. Zayas's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
After a fine move down the middle
I. Erica nearly gave the home side a goal after 85 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
Ogninella claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
The most dominating Ogninella player was without a doubt
F. D'Errico.
However,
F. Todarello made a disastrous appearance.
Chionners's top performer was clearly
P. Bernocchi.
P. Anelli on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 2.
