Wi, making a fantastic play that nearly had Atletico take the lead after 23 minutes, but 苏. 勇忠 (Yongzhong) preserved the tie. Grifone had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 24 minutes, but J. Lagos Mármol's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, S. Brugnaro got himself booked. The manager of Atletico was not happy. After 27 minutes of play, F. Văcărescu gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. G. Messana didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Atletico, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Atletico's S. Brugnaro was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 52 minutes. S. Treccani was given a chance to change things around. G. Coming in from the right, Grifone had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 63 minutes, but J. van Beeren's attempt to finish was easily stopped. With 65 minutes played, the Atletico coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. A. Chillemi came on, V. Ferruzzi had to leave the fray. After 65 minutes, Atletico switched G. Messana with L. Pressi, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. The crowd was silenced 83 minutes into the match as the visiting team's A. Chillemi came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when T. Ankjær slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against 苏. 勇忠 (Yongzhong), but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
