The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 13258 had shown up at Dinamo Kipsta Arena for the match. Right from the start it was obvious that VL were expecting an easy victory. It was an obvious ambition of VL to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. VL almost scored after a swift counterattack 22 minutes into the game, but M. Laflin-Barker put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. dinamo had a chance to take the lead after F. Bjerrum's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 23 minutes. The referee showed dinamo's F. Bjerrum the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. VL's V. Poletti went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. At 30 minutes played, T. Vuillemin came in from the right with the intention of giving dinamo the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. After 33 minutes, J. van Horne sent the corner kick right to V. Lettera who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 1! 0 - 1 was the halftime score. dinamo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

The VL players looked dangerously relaxed in the first half, but are none the less in the lead. A chat by the team captain has made the players a little more aware that the game has actually not yet been won. V. Gaál kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save when J. van Horne delivered an almost perfect free kick to the far post. The visitors almost increased their lead after 75 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. VL increased their lead after 81 minutes when M. Laflin-Barker broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. The players of VL now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Possession in this half belonged to VL, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Most important dinamo player was K. Szepesi. E. Garamella on the other hand, had a terrible day. VL's top performer was clearly M. Laflin-Barker. C. Schall turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
