Zannirato of Bologna seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by N. Agostino. After 28 minutes, V. Nironi put Bologna ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Bologna to 3 - 0 as N. Agostino finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 40 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as V. Nironi broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Bologna. By now, the players in Bologna felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Bologna solidified their lead at the 42 minute mark, as M. Fiordalisi dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, C. Piens got himself booked. The manager of Poggisbronzi was not happy. It was 5 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Bologna, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.

After 53 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by V. Nironi might have resulted in another goal for Bologna. However, P. Wiater made a spectacular save. With the clock showing 54 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Poggisbronzi resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by G. Zaliani in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Bologna's E. Fanni increased the lead to 6 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 57 minutes. A well-executed free kick by N. Agostino after 58 minutes made it 7 - 0 for Bologna. S. Li Mandri's speed was clear to see after 59 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released V. Nironi who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 8 - 0. That made three goals for V. Nironi and he was marked down for the hat trick. Cheers filled the stadium as M. Fiordalisi broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 9 - 0 to Bologna. With 69 minutes gone, Poggisbronzi's C. Piens had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. F. Zannirato should probably have put his team up another goal after 70 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by P. Wiater kept the visitors in the game. Poggisbronzi's P. Tomasini got himself booked for a foul. Bologna enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 76 percent of possession.

E. Cuglietta performed admirably for Bologna. E. Cecetto turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Poggisbronzi player was J. Seppinen. P. Wiater on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 9 - 0.
