Real 0 - 1 Pidiemme
(381988449)

28-07-2012 12.55
8348 spectators had found their way to
SanPellegrini, despite the heavy rain.
Gaspar Ociaga was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Pietro Piendibene and
Jacques Gruson.
Real decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Quezada - Scardovi, Hodne, Steidl, Maccarone - Volta, Zintu, Mouton, De Sousa - Annunziato, Važonis.
Pidiemme had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: van Gijzel - Mirabella, Caviglia, Pantaleon - Şahin, Díaz de Abadillo, Guerradell, Vicente Español, Ðuričanin - Maniero, Andenna.
Today, Real's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Pidiemme saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
D. Važonis was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
Real were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
After 37 minutes Pidiemme's
L. van Gijzel contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
38 minutes into the match, Pidiemme nearly took the lead, as
P. Maniero broke through on the right.
A. Quezada made the save, however.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
Real enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Real's
C. Zintu had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 80 minutes having been played.
P. Dal Martello was the replacement.
It was obvious that Pidiemme had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Pidiemme's
M. Ðuričanin after 82 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but
P. Maniero showed great heart and had a good game.
Real's
F. Volta made a successful breakthrough on the left after 86 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar.
A. Quezada got a fingertip on
Ö. Şahin's shot from the left 87 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal.
Real claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
The most dominating Real player was without a doubt
D. Važonis.
However,
P. Dal Martello made a disastrous appearance.
Pidiemme's top performer was clearly
P. Maniero.
L. van Gijzel was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 1.
