previous 3/4 next 1/4  Tizzzzziano 5 - 0 CSKA (381988505)

13178 spectators arrived at Tio Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Andre Gustavsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ármin Goron and Birger Dewinne. Tizzzzziano tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Marinelli - Sutter, van Ittersum, Hamam - Suykens, Nicolosi, Everhall, Bakkli, Luntraru - Sabot, Iliev.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for CSKA. Lineup: Maiozzi - Zardi, Caprara, Degano, Cimato - Piemontese, Raviolo, Totano, Visalli - Trischitta, Pittore.

Tizzzzziano used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. After 17 minutes of play, M. Iliev gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Tizzzzziano's R. Sutter had an excellent opportunity after 19 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! R. Hamam's lack of experience almost gave CSKA a goal after 25 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. P. Sabot increased the lead for Tizzzzziano to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Cheers filled the stadium as R. Sutter broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Tizzzzziano. By now, the players in Tizzzzziano felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. M. Nicolosi squirmed through their central defence after 43 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. M. Iliev of Tizzzzziano was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Tizzzzziano had most of the ball, with 87 percent of possession.

The pressing tactics used by Tizzzzziano were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Tizzzzziano's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. E. Bakkli could have put Tizzzzziano up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 79 minutes. After 82 minutes, Y. Suykens put Tizzzzziano ahead 5 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Tizzzzziano enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 84 percent of possession.

Tizzzzziano's top performer was clearly Y. Suykens. D. Marinelli was a disappointment, however. Most important CSKA player was F. Caprara. On the other hand, M. Totano's play was disheartening. The match ends 5 - 0.
